There is a new tool available on our tools site called grepWin, a regular expression search and replace tool for Windows. Of course, it can also do normal text searches :-)

Yes, it can detect the encoding of files (ANSI, UTF8 or UTF16) and act accordingly.
New version due this weekend, you may want to wait until then ;)

Search fails when searching files from a multi-selection.

I didn't have the chance to test grepWin so far, but I like StExBar a lot , its great, thanks for realesing it unter GPL!
